Michelle Shannon

 

Former music intern for the songwriters of Disney's Frozen, Michelle Shannon is a singer, songwriter, and piano player from North Carolina. She has been writing music since age six, playing piano for 20 years, and singing for as long as she can remember. She discovered her love of performing as an Irish dancer, performing for a crowd of 10,000 at PNC Music Pavilion alongside The Chieftains and Jethro Tull. Michelle performed in hundreds of venues across the USA, was ranked the No. 1 Irish Dancer in the Southern United States, and represented the USA at the Irish Dance World Championships in Belfast, Ireland. 

 

Today Michelle's focus is creating original music. She has played in Nashville shows and open mics at the Bluebird Cafe, Bobby's Idle Hour, Commodore, Soulshine, Slider House, and Blue Bar, and recorded and produced original songs in studios in Nashville, NC, and NYC. Her songs range from energetic country/rock a la Shania Twain to powerful ballads reminiscent of Little Big Town. She is also a volunteer singer, composer, and producer with Hear Your Song, "a nonprofit that empowers children and teens with serious illnesses to make their voices heard through collaborative songwriting."
